I had a tough day yesterday, which carried into this morning.

I felt like I had a “stress hangover.” My counselor told me, “Sarah if you’re not getting compassion from others, give it to yourself.” You’re a good person. “

That punched me square in the stomach.

When things go wrong, we all too often blame ourselves. Even if the other party is a nutcase.

When she stated this to me, I understood I didn’t need her approval, affirmation, or compassion. I could do it for myself.

So if you needed to hear this today, I hope it was helpful.
